NISM PMS (Portfolio Management Services) module is an exam that tests the knowledge and understanding of individuals about the various aspects of portfolio management services. Here are some tips to clear the exam:
The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions and is 2 hours duration. The syllabus covers regulatory guidelines, general concepts of investment and core concepts of calculations of risk-return, and valuations of equity and bonds.
There are high-quality study materials available in the market such as books, mock tests, and online study materials. Refer to these materials and make notes of important points to revise them later.
Mock Tests should be attempted after a thorough understanding of the concepts. Solving past papers before studying will cause a haphazard way of learning and in turn damage your approach to attempting the exam. It is a mandatory program for PMS Professionals, so it is recommended to have a strategic approach to Learning.
The exam tests the conceptual understanding of individuals. Focus on understanding the concepts. It is not the subject of history or geography where one needs to memorize the facts.
Regular revision is important to retain the concepts and numerical calculations. Set aside a specific time every day for revision, preferably before you go to work when you are in fresh morning spirits. Practice solving questions to improve speed and accuracy.
Practice Reading questions at a “ Slow pace “: When a question is understood properly, you already have half the answer correctly.
Experience shows that “students who study together, succeed together. Find Fellow members in your fraternity.
The ideal time for “Preparation to Attempting Exam” is 21 days. Not Less! No More! Success in First Attempt is more valuable to your Confidence Levels than the second or third.
Wisdom lies not just in knowing the Right Answers but also in “ Not attempting the Unsure Questions “
Happy Learnings!
Remember that preparation is the key to success in any exam, so put in consistent efforts and stay motivated throughout the preparation phase. Good luck!
